June you have been all kinds of wonderful but alas! It’s time to bid you farewell and jump head first into summer. Right now as I sip my tea as I write this, fireworks are popping off in the distance marking fourth of July weekend about to start. Summer officially has graced it’s presence with our first real summer weather-heatwave just this past weekend. Yet here I am talking about summer months ahead when I really need to catch you all up on what happened all the way in May! Whoa! Two months packed into one tea chat. So grab a summer lounger, a pitcher of ice cold tea and cheers!
There wasn’t much going on in the month of May as there was in June. It seemed more of a lull period, calm before the excitement of June. I started off the month with celebrating Cinco de Mayo eating Japanese style noddles karaage don at Kizuki Ramen and Izakaya. Not a taco in sight, and no tequila either.

The sunshine did grace us at times during the month in unexpected ways. The women’s group I am a part of had a ladies brunch meetup at a member’s home in a secluded spot near Discovery Park in Magnolia. Seeing the clear blue of the Puget Sound with the Olympic Mountains in the background was the icing on the cake of a relaxing month.

June ramped up right as the clock turned midnight on June 1st. Not only was it a party going into it with the Queen of England’s Platinum jubilee, but my birthday. I turned another milestone this June, thirty-five times around the sun. It was a quiet affair celebrating it with friends and family.

Bridesmaid duties started to ramp up during the month of June. Not only did I pick out my bridesmaid dress (see the details here) with the bride and the other bridesmaids, but also had the initial fitting of the dress at the end of the month in a span of a few weeks. The last weekend of June we all came back together to celebrate our dear friends bachlorette in Prosser Washington with wine tasting and a wonderful time. Cannot believe the wedding is in another two months! Just seemed like yesterday she asked me to be a bridesmaid. The bridal shower will be in the middle of July in the Tri-Cities area.

Between all those events I managed to find time to go fishing with my dad, and caught fish for once! The rivers and streams have been running high lately around the state from all record snow and rain we had this past winter. I managed to get five fish before calling it a day. I cannot believe how relieved I was to finally get a fish, let along five, after all theses years of not bring home any.

Garden Update:
Already I have picked the first of the bok choy leaves, and have a bunch more coming up. The first veggie harvest has looked promising, and hopefully it will be a success. The spring onions have popped up, the tomatoes are starting to bud, and the potatoes are just taking over in their own piece of ground. Stay tune for more in the coming months!
DIY:
I know I know! I am back at it again with the DIY-ing. I have finished a little side table for next to my bed and spray painting my old worn out wicker baskets. Right now I am tackling my Ikea dresser, and making a wooden top for it from scrap wood. I will go further on it in the future with another post.
