Holiday Tea Chats | It’s Beginning To Look a Lot Like Christmas

Cue Perry Como’s It’s Beginning To Look a Lot Like Christmas and it did not disappoint in the first few days of the December!

first of all welcome to the holiday tea chats, and hopefully they can be a little coziness through the upcoming season. This is one of my favorite times of the year and with all that has happened, it is a time of remembering what is important as we all go into the last month of the year. No matter where you are in reading this blog post, I wish you a merry and bright holiday season.

Beginning to look a lot like Christmas started with decorating the church for Christmas. I have done this every year except during pandemic. Each year there is a theme that goes with the Advent season reading. This year, The Promised One from Christianity Today.

Since we are in the great Pacific Northwest, we have multiple trees (artificial) dressed in all their finest of lights and ornaments that have been collected over the long years of our church’s life. This year I was on garland duty and helped get all the boxes of Christmas decor into the auditorium from the storeroom under the stage. The decorations were strung through out the church public areas and outside with the huge lighted wreaths for those who drive by.

But that was not the only trees decorated this past week.

I pulled my 4 foot tree that I haven’t used in a few years and went with an idea that I saw on Pinterest. I put the base of the tree into a wooden crate and put white table cloth around the base to hide the tree stand. The theme I went with this year was woodland, rustic Christmas, and gnomes. It some how came together with the white string lights that were already on the tree.

Cyber Monday for me is really going out to the stores and getting the Christmas things I need for the season. Those include the traditional Christmas treats and the a few stocking stuffers.

At World Market, I pick up some British Christmas treats that I look forward to every year. I pick up the Christmas fruit cake (the one that is traditional Europe), Terry’s Chocolate Oranges (new flavor toffee and the dark chocolate) for stockings, and Lacey cookies that I do buy year round, but these are the special one for Christmas. There were a few thing I bought for others that I know are reading this blog, so I will keep those a secret until after (wink).

Also at Target I did get a calendar for next year. I cannot believe it is already that time of year to get a new one! I already bought my Passion Planner back in September when the new ones came out, yet I needed a wall one for work. If you are looking for a calendar for next year, try the Target dollar spot.

Another song that has going through my head recently is the Marshmallow World song due to a winter storm that hit here in the Seattle area. It was a storm that dropped snow all over the area, and brought down some trees. I did wake up without power one morning and had to go to work while it was still coming down. As I write this post, the tree in the front yard still is laying down in the pillow of snow waiting for the tree service to come.

Christmas Movies Watched:
