One word, Duelingo. The app based language learning that is like a game, and has a creepy green bird that hunts you down when you missed a lesson.

But let’s be serious for a moment.

I have been wanting to be fluent in Turkish for awhile. After all I have been watching those Turkish Dizi on Youtube and Netflix. Let me tell you, subtitles in that language is….well is….complicated. I remember one subtitle moment on a popular Turkish Drama that was translated into a hilarious sentence in English. The translation from Turkish to English was “war sheep sausage,” where the scene was a guy at a restaurant with a girl. Even voice dubbed into English has had moments were the English speaking person gets confused. And that is one of the reasons why I want to learn Turkish.

Turkish is no the only language I am learning right now on Duelingo. I am re-learning Spanish and Danish, and learning Greek (the non biblical Greek).

I have always been fascinated by other languages and cultures around the world. I am for one, encourage the learning of another language or more.
